My experience with cameras began very early in life. I remember getting a camcorder for Christmas one year, and for years I made creative videos and films that still live to haunt me today. Flash forward and I’m studying to get a degree in Broadcast and Digital Media Communications. This really shaped my knowledge of lighting, composition, shooting techniques, and post-production. I was planning to move to Los Angeles to attend a film academy with the hopes of eventually becoming a producer or creative arts director when I met my husband. Moving to LA didn’t make sense for us, so early in our marriage we invested in a digital camera for me to shoot what I thought would be “on the side.” However, my client base grew quickly and I was full time within a year. As my business grew, it became apparent to
me that weddings were where my heart was at. My passion and vision for what a wedding day could look like creatively have propelled me to where I’m at today. Let me unpack that a little bit. Outside of photography, I am passionate about truth, the outdoors, people, purposeful conversations. I appreciate the world for what it is naturally, and I love being able to meet people where they’re at and hear their stories; the good and the bad. So when it comes to a wedding day, I realize we are celebrating two imperfect people who are beginning a life together. It’s real, raw, messy, and enthralling. My desire is for the images to be authentic moments frozen in time, for my couples to feel freedom to live their day without inhibition, and ultimately to celebrate every moment it took to get to this one.
